It encourages activism against gender-based violence, and is a global event which began on November 25.
It ends on December 10, which is World Human Rights Day.
This year, the committee came up with the initiative of designing posters to put around the local community.
The posters have information about domestic violence and a local response for people experiencing Domestic violence who need local support.
Domestic violence is a national crisis, and this year alone, a woman has been killed every five days by a former or current partner in Australia.
This violence threatens the opportunity for women to live full and equal lives, and the Domestic Violence Awarenesses Committee is committed to raising awareness and providing information and support to the local community.
The poster campaign launch was hosted at Harry Pepper on Tuesday, attended by committee members, service providers and project partners like the Rotary Club of Deniliquin.
“The committee would like to thank the Rotary Club of Deniliquin for their generous donation towards morning tea,” group member Leanne Wright said.
“A big thanks also to Harry Pepper for having us.”
