This year’s draft will feature 25 bulls, consisting of Apricot and Black sires, including five French pure polled bulls.
The McIntyre family continue to offer their genetics and sires backed with more then 40 years of breeding behind them, with an everlasting focus on long-bodied easy-doing cattle that are free moving and easy to handle.
The bulls on offer at the autumn sale will feature an even mix of rising two-year-old and 18-month-old sires, comprising 13 Apricot and 12 Black bulls with DNA testing — seven homozygous polled, 18 polled and only two horned bulls, in line with changing industry preferences.
All bulls have also been sire-verified so you can be assured that the blood lines are as described.
With several bulls being heifer-friendly there is a large portion of offering with EBVs for all growth traits and in particular Carcass Weight EBVs in the leading end of the Limousin breed, leaving potential buyers plenty of scope to find the right bull to fit their purpose.
While EBVs are important, Chateau also values the structure and shape of an animal, which can only be judged by seeing the cattle in the flesh or via photo/video.
The McIntyres also offer free delivery for lots purchased from the sale to all major Victorian centres and freight subsidy for other locations.
The sale will be held on Thursday, March 6 at 1pm at Londrigan via Wangaratta, and will again be conducted via video format with footage shown during the sale and cattle displayed in pens on the day.
Videos of all lots will be available from mid-to-late January via Chateau’s website and Facebook page.
While the sale will be interfaced online, the McIntyres look forward to offering a preview at the stud’s Beef Week open day on Tuesday, February 4.
