Yarrawonga
The Good Friday Appeal is on this Friday and the Yarrawonga CFA and SES will be back collecting money for the appeal around the streets of Yarrawonga. This year will be a little different, as they will not be going to the door of houses but will be walking down streets with vehicles making lots of noise to alert people they’re in your street so you can come out and donate money.
Mums, dad's and kids, come on down and be a part of this fantastic day collecting for the sick children. The more help, the quicker the group finish covering the town. If you would like to assist in volunteering to collect donations, the day will start at 8am at the Yarrawonga fire station. The station will be open from 8am for people to also donate there.
The Yarrawonga Yacht Club is also raising funds for the Children's Hospital with fantastic music from the famous Bali Band as well as an Easter egg hunt, woodfire pizza and big Easter raffle from 3pm.
In the meantime, a number of businesses around Yarrawonga including CMCU, which is currently displaying a large banner out the front of the branch, are collecting donations for the Good Friday Appeal with collection tins aligning front counters.
Also running in-store and online from March 30 to April 19 customers at Woolworths Yarrawonga Central can support the Good Friday Appeal by simply adding a $2 Easter egg-shaped token to their shop or by making a Round Up donation at Woolworths self-service check-outs.
The four-day Annual Easter Tennis Tournament at the Yarrawonga Lawn Tennis Club and JC Lowe oval will be held from Friday, April 15 to Monday, April 18.
Mulwala
Mulwala Fire and Rescue will again be taking part in the annual Good Friday Appeal for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Donations can be made at the station from 9am on Good Friday and everyone is most welcome.
Mulwala Lions will take on Congupna at Lonsdale Reserve with action to kick off from 9.15am on Friday.
Tungamah
Come and see approximately 12 Clydesdale horses and six wagons at the Tungamah RV Park tomorrow night Thursday, April 14 and then on Good Friday they will be driving to St James leaving Tungamah at 9.30am.
When they leave the park they will drive up Boyd St turning left into Middleton St then left into Barr St on their way to St James.
They will be back in Tungamah on Sunday afternoon staying in the RV park and leaving on Easter Monday Morning.
CFA will be running their usual tin collection run in the morning of Good Friday.
Tungamah Social Club will hold a fundraiser for the Good Friday Appeal Royal Children’s Hospital, from 12noon onwards at the Tungamah Hotel.
The day includes; a car rally with registration between 11am and noon for $10 per adult and a gold coin per child; yabby races, raffles with over 50 prizes valued at $50+, auction of goods and services, craft and cake stall, fresh produce, ‘Kid’s Corner’ and more.
Meals are available at the hotel all day.
Everyone is welcome so come along and join in the fun and help to raise money for a very worthy cause.
All money raised goes to the Royal Children’s Hospital to help sick children.
Bundalong
The Bundalong Tavern, along with some dedicated locals from the Bundalong Tavern Assist Committee are getting together to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital with the Good Friday Community Fundraising day.
At the Tavern form 12pm, there will be plenty to see and do for people of all ages, with numerous children’s rides and activities, delicious food trucks, market stalls, auctions, live music and even a fishing boat up for grabs in the raffle.
Tickets are currently on sale $5 a ticket over the bar to be drawn on Good Friday.
In recent years, Bundalong has raised well over $75,000 so make sure to head out to the Tavern as the staff at the Tavern and members of the Bundalong Tavern Assist Committee hope to see you all this Friday, April 15.
Devenish/ Dookie
After raising a whopping $80,000 last year, the Devenish-Dookie Good Friday Appeal is once again going above and beyond for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The DDGFA annual online auction proudly sponsored by Kevin Hicks Real Estate was completed last week with the committee hosting their annual event, a Show 'n' Shine this Friday at the Dookie Pub/ main street of Dookie.
There will be activities for the whole family, raffles and most importantly live music.
